Join us for a Co-op Cleanup & Seedling Swap!
Help keep our Co-op beautiful! Join us on Saturday, May 10th to help us tidy up the lawn, garden beds, and parking lot outside of the co-op. A community seedling swap will follow the cleanup!
Please bring garden gloves and tools if you wish to participate in the co-op cleanup. The co-op does not own many gardening tools, so we won’t have enough for everyone to use. You may bring enough for yourself to use, or you may bring extra for others to use. There will be some tasks available for folks without gloves and/or gardening tools.
Feel free to bring plants and/or seedlings if you wish to participate in the seedling swap following the cleanup. Anyone is welcome to participate in the seedling swap, folks are not required to participate in the cleanup beforehand.
Please pre-register to volunteer at the co-op cleanup, so we know how many people to expect:
On the day of the Cleanup, please wear or bring:
Closed-toe shoes
A warm layer
A rain layer
A bottle of water
Gardening gloves (optional)
Gardening tools like shovels, rakes, clippers (optional)
Seedlings and/or plants (optional)
Cleanup Schedule
9:00 a.m. to 9:30am - Orientation & Coffee
Cleanup volunteers will meet at the Good Tern Co-op to receive cleanup assignments. Coffee and bagels will be available for cleanup volunteers.
9:00 a.m. to 11 a.m. – Co-op Cleanup
Volunteers may complete needed cleanup tasks such as: raking, weeding, litter picking, trimming dead branches/plants, and more.
11 a.m. to 12 p.m. – Seedling Swap
Everyone is welcome to join us from 11-12pm for a seedling swap! Did you start too many seedlings and end up with extras? Do you have perennials that need thinning? Bring them to the co-op for others to enjoy! You may find something else that you’d like to take home with you.
Folks are not required to participate in the cleanup in order to join us for the seedling swap.
