Tea Blending Workshop

  • Hole In The Wall Bagels 754 Main Street Rockland, ME, 04841 United States (map)

Join us at Hole In The Wall Bagels on Wednesday, March 5th at 5:30pm for a Tea Blending Workshop with Abi Morrison!

Asian medicine practitioner Abi Morrison will speak about creating unique blends of herbal, black, and green teas. She will address blending for taste, season, and health. Foraged ingredients will be included, and nourishing beverages will be served as we talk about tea blending in the comfort of the Bagel Shop. We will then head over to Good Tern to explore the selection of organic herbs and teas available for sale in the bulk aisle. The energetics, five essential flavors, and thermal properties of some common herbs that Good Tern carries in bulk, such as ginger, mint, and licorice, will be discussed as a way to aid in their appropriate use for individual makeup and for the season. You’ll be set free to peruse the selection, and purchase whichever supplies you'll need if you're feeling inspired to blend your own teas at home.

Cost: FREE

Space is limited, registration is required.

Snow date: March 12th.

Abi Morrison L.Ac., has been experimenting with plant-based beverages since she discovered licorice root and sassafras in her teens. Her acupuncture practice includes Chinese herbal formulas, and she encourages people to use plants they can find locally if possible. She says, “The more we can be in touch with plants, and therefore our environment around us, the more likely we are to stay happy and healthy.”

An active member of the Good Tern since its founding in 1980, Morrison has been been practicing acupuncture and herbs in Rockland for 20 years with an emphasis on meditation and movement for pain management and maintaining general health. She believes that what you eat is more important for long-term health than any medicine, herb, or treatment. Her favorite activities include messing around with heirloom apple trees and foraging in the bog.
